A Word from the Executive Director

Dear Chamber Members and Partners,
This certainly has been a busy first month here at the Chamber. The Chamber has literally been in hiring mode since February and I am happy to say that we are finally done with that process. As we welcomed Ben Bromley into the role of Marketing and Tourism Coordinator on May 22nd our team was complete. I know many of you are familiar with the staff that has remained. However, this does seem like a great time to reintroduce them to you. Sandy Gavin, who knows everybody in Baraboo and how they are related, is our Office & Operations Coordinator. She is a longtime friendly face here at the Chamber. Speaking of friendly faces, we have Pat Eschmann, who serves as our Visitor Center Representative. Pat is at the Chamber part time. Stop by and say hello. Pat’s smile is worth the trip.

Well, now that we all know each other, here is what has been happening at the Chamber. Our Annual Golf Classic is coming up on Tuesday, June 11th and we have been diligently working on putting together this great networking event for our members and community. A special thanks needs to be given to our four main sponsors; Baraboo State Bank, Sysco Foods of Baraboo, Jose’s Authentic Mexican Restaurant and Top Hat Fireplace & Chimney Specialists. This event would not be possible without their generous support. It will be a great day filled with golf, raffles, auction items, great food, drinks, networking and more. Don’t forget it is a Celebrity Golf Classic.Come dressed as you favorite celebrity and you could be the winner. Golf is sold out; however, you can still register to join us for dinner. The Chamber staff is looking forward to seeing you at the event.

As we are finishing the Golf Classic planning we are turning our focus to the Brand Launch in June. We are looking forward to sharing the Discover Real Baraboo Brand and the tools needed to execute its use. With the new Brand, marketing the area will have a consistent look. Ben and I have been working together to ensure that this gets off the ground soon and with great support.

I am sure your summer is already filling up. Before it does completely, make sure that you have the Big Top Parade on your calendar. The 7th Annual Big Top Parade and Circus Celebration will be held on Saturday, July 20th. This event brings 25,000-plus people to the area. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor of the Parade, it’s not too late. You can get sponsor information and sign up at bigtopparade.com.

We are excited at the Chamber for a summer packed with opportunity, growth and fun. To be able to look forward to all of that, and in the Baraboo Area none the less, we are truly lucky.
