Baraboo is aptly known as “Circus City” because of its deep heritage involving the Ringling Bros. Circus, which began in Baraboo in 1884 and made its “Winter Quarters” here until 1918. Now you can make Baraboo your “Winter Quarters” and experience the rich circus legacy that we have to offer, including Circus World, the Al. Ringling Theatre, the Al. Ringling Mansion and Brewery, the Ringling House Bed & Breakfast, the International Clown Hall of Fame and Research Center, and many of the structures built by the Ringling Bros. to house their circus and their families.
