Raise A Glass To Our Fall Festivals

Raise a glass to our fall festivals

Baraboo’s rolling, tree-topped hills are the ideal spot to take in fall colors. Natural areas like Devil’s Lake State Park and seasonal destinations like Ski Hi Fruit Farm afford panoramic views of the Baraboo Hills’ colorful tree canopy.

But there’s more to see than fall colors. Signature events are just as powerful a draw, starting with Baraboo Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 20. This ethnic festival features live music, local Oktoberfest beers and food trucks serving bratwurst, pretzels and schnitzel. Oktoberfest is held at Circus World, on the site where the Ringlings – impresarios of German descent – launched the “Greatest Show on Earth.”

Just up the hill from Circus World lies downtown Baraboo, which will host Fair on the Square on October 11. Dozens of artisans will pack the streets of this Rockwellian business district, offering gifts the loved ones on your holiday list couldn’t possibly get from anyone else.

Just two weeks later, Baraboo will welcome the Fall Art Tour. Three dozen local artists will open their studios to the public October 17-19, giving a sneak peek at their creative process and presenting arts lovers with an opportunity to explore Baraboo’s stunning scenery as they venture from stop to stop.

Mid-Continent Railway Museum in nearby North Freedom will offer Autumn Color Rides on two October weekends – Oct. 4-5 and 11-12. Take in the brilliant hues of autumn aboard a historic passenger train car!

Need a place to stay during your visit? The new Fairfield Inn & Suites has become a favorite. If you’re looking for a more rustic experience, try Fireside Cabins. And if you like to play where you stay, get a room at Ho-Chunk Casino‘s hotel.

There’s no better time to visit the Baraboo Area than the fall, when everything turns gold. Learn more at baraboo.com.
