You’re Invited To A Birthday Party

You’re invited to a birthday party

A patriotic jubilee will hit the streets of downtown Baraboo on June 13 as the Big Top Parade celebrates America’s 250th birthday.
Befitting the red, white and blue theme, this year’s parade will be led by local veterans serving as Grand Marshals. They’ll be joined by dozens of community floats and historic Circus World wagons carrying the cast of this summer’s big top show and two circus bands. Speaking of bands, there will be a whopping nine musical groups in this year’s parade.

Forward! Marching Band and the Badger Band will perform as part of our pre-parade fun between 10 and 11 a.m. Meanwhile, Eggy the Clown will present his Comedy Academy at 9:30 on the courthouse lawn. Then, the Wild Rumpus Circus will present interactive circus fun for kids at 10. All the while, a bouncy house will be open for business, and food trucks will line Oak Street ready to serve treats.
The circus-themed fun actually begins Thursday, June 11 as Professor Stich’s Original Circus Band performs at Concerts on the Square.
The next evening, the Al. Ringling Theatre will present Charlie Chaplin’s classic film “The Circus” with organ accompaniment at 7 p.m. On Saturday after the parade, fans are encouraged to attend two big top shows at Circus World. That night, the theatre will present a singalong screening of “The Greatest Showman” at 7 p.m.
