Statement on the BHS graduation incident

The Baraboo Area Chamber of Commerce is very supportive of the work of Dr. Rainey Briggs and his staff to create a first-rate learning environment for our students. Dr. Briggs and the district’s communications director are invited to all of our monthly Board of Directors meetings to keep us abreast of significant developments within the district.

We trust that local authorities and our court system will hold the perpetrator accountable for his actions that interrupted what should have been a night of great celebration for our 248 fine graduates.

The Chamber does not believe the actions of one misguided individual should be used to characterize Baraboo as something it is not. Baraboo is a welcoming, embracing and nurturing community that supports its institutions and strives to create an inclusive community.
