Downtown Baraboo boasts throwback charm
Downtown Baraboo is a scene straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. The streets are lined with century-old buildings filled with thriving specialty shops.
Shoppers will find a home goods store, a day spa and clothing boutiques, not to mention a candy kitchen and a toy store. Such throwbacks fit the architecture that makes Downtown Baraboo an historic landmark.

When you’re ready for a break from shopping, refuel at one of the Courthouse Square’s many eateries. Options range from classic Wisconsin taverns to gourmet cafes.
Downtown Baraboo is a gathering place, with the courthouse lawn and downtown streets playing host to events such as Concerts on the Square every summer Thursday, Fair on the Square each spring and fall, and the Big Top Parade each June. The end of the year is especially magical downtown, as the Christmas Light Parade and outdoor market in November kick off a holiday season featuring visits with Santa, horse-drawn wagon rides and strolling carolers every Saturday.
Old-fashioned fun fits Downtown Baraboo’s throwback charm. Rockwell would’ve loved it: You will, too.
