Two board seats up for election
George Althoff
Executive Director
Two positions on the Baraboo Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors will be on the ballot for the upcoming 2027 election. Those positions are:
- Tourism – This position is being vacated by Shelley Mordini of Baraboo Tours. Shelley has served two consecutive three-year terms on the board, including a year as President, and is not eligible for re-election. A representative from a Chamber member in the Tourism industry is eligible to hold this position.
- Financial Services – This position is currently held by Tiffany Sloan of Baraboo State Bank. She has served one three-year term and is eligible for re-election. Any representative of a Chamber member in the Financial Services classification is eligible to run for this position.
The 11-member Board of Directors is the governing body of the Chamber and works with the Executive Director to set priorities for the organization. Per our bylaws, the board is comprised of directors representing Agribusiness, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Professional, Retail, and Tourism; the City of Baraboo hotel industry; the Village of West Baraboo hotel industry; the Ho-Chunk Nation; and two At-Large directors.
A director’s duties include participation in the monthly board meetings and service on at least one of our four standing committees. Directors also are encouraged to take part in chamber events such as the annual dinner, golf outing, Oktoberfest and our monthly After 5 business networking events.
If you would like to be considered for either of the two positions up for election, please fill out the nomination form here and send it to me at director@baraboochamber.com. If you have questions, please drop me an email or call me at 608-356-8333. Nomination deadline is Friday, Nov. 6. The slate of eligible candidates will be approved by the Board of Directors at its November meeting. Ballots will then be sent to all eligible voting members within three business days.

Register now for Member Appreciation Night
Registration is now open for the Chamber’s Member Appreciation Night on Thursday, Oct. 29, at Zeman’s Old Highway House, beginning at 5:15 p.m. The event will feature a tailgate theme intended to get people ready to watch the Green Bay Packers host the Carolina Panthers later that night.

Another Oktoberfest is in the books
Our 5th annual Oktoberfest on Sept. 19 was another great success, with nearly 500 people partaking in the event. Of course, it rained again!
Thank you to our Fest Royalty Tom and Lisa Stout, Amber Giddings and The Relish Tray Bistro, Darren Hornby and Ski-Hi Fruit Farm, Tumbled Rock Brewery & Kitchen, Al. Ringling Brewery, Pal’s Brewing, Scott O’Donnell and the staff at Circus World, dozens of volunteers, and the members of our Tourism Committee – Shelley Mordini, Julie Hearley, Nellie Schmitz, Jim Gingras and Crystal Stonefish.
A special shoutout to Suzanne Covoloskie and her team, who once again did an excellent job of running the biergarten.
