Experience Baraboo on ‘Discover Wisconsin’
Discover Wisconsin, the nation’s longest-running travel & tourism TV series, steps into the spotlight with a brand-new episode, “Wisconsin’s Circus Town & Outdoor Playground — Baraboo,” streaming Oct. 15.
Baraboo’s circus legacy takes center stage, inviting viewers to explore its historic ties to the circus world and the lasting influence on local culture. Highlights include iconic stops at the Circus World Museum and the beautifully renovated Al. Ringling Theatre.
Lindsey Hayes, host and producer of Discover Wisconsin, shares, “Growing up in Sauk County, I’ve always known Baraboo is a true gem. The destinations will wow you, and the people make you feel at home. Devil’s Lake State Park is one of my favorite spots in Wisconsin; we even feature scuba diving! My family came along for part of the adventure, and it was so special watching my children relive the memories I cherish from my own childhood at the circus and local zoo. I can’t recommend it enough: 10/10!”
When the curtain closes on the circus scenes, the adventure continues outdoors. Lindsey guides viewers along scenic hiking trails at Devil’s Lake State Park, a round of golf at Baraboo Country Club, and peaceful walks along the riverfront path.
The experience further unfolds with hands-on animal encounters at the Ochsner Park Zoo, interactive exhibits at the Baraboo Children’s Museum, and a visit to the International Crane Foundation—the only place in the world to see all 15 species of cranes.
Downtown Baraboo’s historic charm also shines in the episode, spotlighting more than 40 locally owned shops, boutiques, and cafés.

The episode will air on October 18th and 19th at varying times across local affiliates of the Discover Wisconsin Regional Television Network.
